This series of posts are what I consider to be the highest quality on my website. Generally, they all feature a unique building, interesting commentary, and/or great photos. They are also good examples of this blog’s scope.
Edith Farnsworth House - “Modernism and Nature”
Highly detailed coverage of an iconic work of Modern architecture.
Home Building Association Bank - “The Old Home”
Not the best photos by my current standards, but my first foray into a town outside of Columbus, Ohio. Plus, it’s a beautiful Louis Sullivan bank.
Knowlton Hall (parts 1 and 2)
A thoroughly written and photographed series of posts about the odd, contemporary Knowlton Hall, the home of Ohio State’s architecture school.
Thompson Library - “Rubbing the Head”
Highly detailed coverage of one of the most prominent Ohio State campus buildings.
Farmers & Merchants Union Bank - “The Jewel Box”
Louis Sullivan’s final work that was an entire building, and an excellent example of his “jewel boxes.”
Bricker Hall - “Weaver Hall”
My final fully-researched and photographed Ohio State article, which does a good job at highlighting how my commentary approach and photography skills have changed since I began in 2024.
Shelby County Courthouse - “The Second Empire Strikes Back”
Pretty winter photos of an 1870s Second Empire courthouse.
The Drake - “Hotline Bling”
Ohio State’s most recently demolished building as of 2025, and extensive commentary and photos of the structure before and after its demolition. Also features my first ever architectural photos.
