Neil Hall was a similar building to the still-existing Mendoza House--a dorm building not built by Ohio State but eventually purchased by them. It was also constructed around the same time. Neil Hall’s site is currently bordered by HangOverEasy to the north, Adriatico’s to the south, Res on 10th to the east, and Neil Avenue and Hamilton Hall to the west.
History

Neil Hall was designed prior to 1922, as a bond financing its construction began that year, but it did not begin until late 1924 or early 1925. By November 1925, the south wing was completed and women were already living inside, and the entire building was finished by October 1926. Neil Hall’s architect is unknown, but it has a reinforced concrete frame and brick exterior and was designed in the Renaissance Revival style. It was built as a women’s dormitory and had a capacity of 300.

Ohio State began leasing Neil Hall in 1928 under a 10-year lease, and in 1942 the title was passed to the university. In 1972, it was converted to apartments. Neil Hall was demolished in 1998 for the construction of the Younkin Success Center.
