Best Of

These are what I consider to be this website’s best posts. Whether a unique building, interesting commentary, or great photos, all of these are the entries I’m the most proud of. They are good examples of this blog’s scope.

Knowlton Hall (parts 1 and 2)

A thoroughly written series of posts about the odd contemporary Knowlton Hall, home of Ohio State’s architecture school.

Thompson Library - “Rubbing the Head”

Highly detailed coverage of one of the most prominent Ohio State campus buildings.

The Drake - “Hotline Bling”

Ohio State’s most recently demolished building as of 2025, and extensive commentary and photos of the structure before and after its addition. Also features my first ever architectural photos.

University Hall - “An Exercise in Boredom”

Probably the most recognizable work of architecture on Ohio State campus, with a well-researched history of the standing building and its predecessor.

Hayes Hall - “The Skillful Hand”

Ohio State’s oldest extant campus building, a lovely Richardsonian Romanesque design chock-full of ornamentation.

Sullivant Hall - “The Black Sheep”

A very interesting and highly detailed Beaux-Arts building, with lots of history, photos, and commentary to match.

Campbell Hall - parts 1 and 2

Exploring the construction site of an older building on campus on two occasions, and I go on the roof!
